Mysteries of Life

Someone please explain to me how my morning has been easier with two 2-year olds. Tracy's daughter, Cait, is over today and whew! I have watched the entire Today Show, consumed two (!) cups of coffee in peace (!), read a magazine, cleaned out three drawers in the kitchen, cleared off the kitchen counter pile (that has been there for months) and blogged.

They have pushed toy strollers around the house approximately 145,264 times. No one has whined. No one has bothered me at all. I am completely boggled.

If anyone has a spare 2-year old, bring 'em on over! I have some housecleaning I need to get done! I wonder how much a toddler charges for babysitting....

Isn't it awesome how much easier they are when someone else is there to play with?! Time for you to have another!!! :)

So the key is to have twins?

Andrea, I think twins would push me over the edge. I don't think I would have made it past the first year to enjoy the playing together with twins.

Katie, schedule your afternoon on Thurday. If you can get that much done with two two year olds, imagine what you should get done with them plus a 4 year old??:)

I've thought before that the first year would be HELL with twins, but then probably a bit easier with a constant friend. My old neighbor had a two year old and her husband is deployed. I kept telling her that I would be happy to watch her daughter. It wouldn't even have been just to help her out. Having a friend helps so much! Until they start fighting.

Isn't it funny - I always have felt guilty asking to leave any child with someone but always find when someone else leaves their child with me that it does make the day go more smoothly.

Isn't that a hoot? One more year, one more year! I hope this whole thing works with siblings that are not exactly the same age...

That's why people often assure young mothers that a second child is easier than the first. (Except, of course, when it's not!)You might want to consider a four year gap so you don't have two in college at the same time.

Happy Birthday, Becca!

They entertain themselves! It's great!! With siblings it can be bliss at times, and other times you want to lock yourself in a bathroom!

It is the same with twins!

Hmmm, good to know. I'll add that to my "good tips" book for when I finally have my own.
