The House of Plague

Guess what happened yesterday? I came down with some kind of weird fluish sickness. I couldn't lift my head off my pillow all day--nausea, chills, body aches, you name it. Thankfully, John was here on reserve and didn't get called into work. He took over all Becca-care and household duties. I was horizontal all day. I slept at least 15 hours (and I feel almost totally better today). Jim and Jo Anne also came down with that mystery virus a couple days ago. Illnesses 'R Us! Stop by anytime! We give them out for free!

Also, the best antibiotic to treat Becca's UTI is amoxicillin and I'm pretty sure she is mildly allergic to it. After her second dose she seemed to get a mild rash and something that looked like a bug bite on her face. I gave her some Benadryl and tried not to hyperventilate. I think I'll be checking on her all night tonight to be sure she's breathing. The past week she has ended up in bed with me anyway because she just keeps crying. Tonight will probably be no different. It is like having a newborn in the house again! No sleep! Constant worry!

John had to go fly a three-day trip today, so let's just hope things can stay calm and un-sick around here! I have never had such a scary, roller coaster week. Things start to look better and then something else weird happens. I really, really hope tomorrow is the day when things just go back to normal.

So, Happy New Year! Here are my resolutions:
1. No one in the house is allowed to have any seizures or any serious illnesses
2. Get my photos organized--both digital and hard copies
3. Eat more fish
4. Find a way to get paid for being on the Internet

What are your resolutions?

Oh, my. Things must MUST turn around for you soon.

We had a whole year of medical meyham! That means we're clear for 2008, right???

Hope things get much better very soon.

Oh hey! Calum got that same reaction to Amoxicillin, but it wasn't an allergy. The actual term the doctor used was "non-specific reaction." Huh? But also he used the word "harmless." So okay. Cal was fine. We even finished up the medicine & have used it since. Obviously, maybe it's not the same thing, but maybe it is?

I really hope you catch a break soon. Sounds like hell.

Your house sounds like mine did for the whole month of December. I hope your illnesses are shorter-lived than ours!

I don't really have any resolutions this year. Maybe I should think of some. Oh, I know: stop procrastinating. That's a good place to start, right?

I want to do the same thing with photos. I hate to get behind on it, too! I probably have other resolutions, but they have gone out of my head.
