A Miracle!

I slept for 8 straight hours last night! I woke up at 7:00 and started some laundry, made a big breakfast and coffee for myself, sat down and read the paper and watched the Today Show all before Becca woke up. Hallelujah! When she did wake up she was chipper and happy and NOT SCREAMING.

On the rare occasion that this happens (about three times... ever) I am just so excited to see her when she wakes up. I've puttered around a bit and am not all discombobulated the minute I jump out of bed at the sound of crying. I probably should just set an alarm and get up before she does every morning. But....well....I'm not that motivated.

I have just been bustling around like crazy today, happy as a lark. It is sunny and about 60 degrees today, so I opened up a bunch of windows and aired out the house. I have been vacuuming, cleaning, doing laundry, going to Target and buying new throw pillows and red accents for my kitchen and family room (Thanks, Mom!).....it feels so good to have such energy and not have a tantruming toddler attached to my thigh and screaming. I also noticed the tulip bulbs I planted last fall have broken through the ground. It feels like spring, and it is only January. I hear a cold front is coming, so I'm trying to enjoy it while I can!

This morning I said to Becca, "What should we do today?" And she said, "How about....vacuuming?" So, she put on her play dress-up shoes and got her little red vacuum (Thanks, Jo Anne) and I got my big blue one and we vacuumed two floors of the house together, until the belt blew on mine. I did not have my high heels on, just so you know. I don't know where she gets these ideas!

So, life is just grand today in my corner of the world. And, it is a very nice change.

She's coming around. Yeah! See, it seems that sometimes you just have to bitch and complain to everyone and it'll turn around as soon as you do! Happens to me every time! :) I wish more mom's complained on their blogs. Then, I wouldn't look like such a miserable mother on my blog!

Yeah, my two girls, when healthy, sleep from 7:30pm +/- to 8:00am or later. Do I get at 7:00, take a shower, eat breakfast and do chores? Of course not. I lay in bed and think of what I should be doing. I should set a quiet alarm (read quiet music) and get up and do something! When I do, I'm energized and so much better while the girls all day!

If I didn't know better I would almost think you were singing "zippidy do da" and playing with blue birds. Your words were almost dancing on the screen. Remember this day down the road when you are NOT so happy. I love it.!

I'm so happy for you both! I've been reading your posts and having flashbacks to those days and remembering EXACTLY how you've been feeling. Such a roller coaster.
Enjoy and savor the awesome days like this one - they make the not-so-great ones worth it!

Though, there are days that I crazily think that I'd like to go back to those toddler days. The answers seemed to be so much more clear back then.

Yay for the good days! It's awesome that you're able to enjoy it. Sometimes I get all caught up in waiting for the other shoe to drop, that I totally neglect to ENJOY the good moments.

Isn't it amazing what a little sleep will do to the psyche? It's like magic.

Joy to the world, Becca has slept in.

And mom has slept some too.

Let every mom rejoice for her
cause she had some sleep

So glad you've had a better day. Even when Becca was not feeling well, I noticed that she had a penchant for those high heels!

Gotta love those mornings! Katheryn never wants to wake up in the morning (on school days) and always asks if she can sleep in.
Becca looks cute in those shoes!
