Chillin' or Pretending To

I did it. I opted out of the rest of this week at choir. I sent an email with all kinds of detailed information on parvovirus and intrauterine blood transfusions just to make it seem really official. God, I am SUCH a nerd. The response was "Of course your health and your baby's health come first. Take good care." That was nice. I feel mostly relieved, I guess, but a it is a little weird, too.

After I took a nap, John did yard work (with his brand new Stepford-approved weed whacker--we can officially stay in this neighborhood now) while Becca and I walked to the playground. We had a great family dinner of steak on the grill, corn on the cob, watermelon and baked potatoes. Jo Anne is flying in tomorrow for the rest of the week, which will be really nice. Tonight as Becca was running around in the driveway in her barefeet, she spun around in a circle and said, "I'm so excited Gee Gee is coming!" We are too.

John is over here talking about the weed whacker and how awesome it is. Something about a cord on an old electric weed eater at his house as a kid. I don't think we ever even had a weed whacker at my house growing up. He is going on and on about how this new one is cordless and is so totally awesome. Who is this guy? Where did they take my husband? John? Are you out there somewhere?

Isn't it amazing what a new tool can do to a man?

Katie. I missed a few days reading here, and I feel for you SO MUCH with the scary virus stuff. I am thinking about you. Oh girl. I wish there were something I could do to help.

At least the new yard tool provided a few moments of distraction.
