A Day In The Life of a Lazy Pregnant Lady

Well....this laid back thing isn't working so well for me. The house is basically in complete squalor and I haven't gotten a thing done to get ready for our Mad Dash 2008. John came home from work yesterday to find me, slumped on the couch, with my shirt pulled up over my belly, pants undone, dress up shoes and toys strewn from the front door to the back, my dirty diapered child clambering her rashy self all over me, with caked-on chocolate on her mouth and Cinderella II playing on the DVD player for the ninth time. I believe "dismay" could accurately describe his reaction. "What did you do today?" he asked me. I answered, "You're looking at it. And I'm too overwhelmed to cook dinner."

So, it has come to this.

Ha! I hate the what did you do today questions! Especially when you find that you have no answer for it.

The frenzy to get everything ready will hit you at some point. Your house might not be clean, but that's overrated.

YOu need to tell John.."THis is what happens when I DON'T do anything, so if there is supper cooking and you can walk from the front door to the kitchen without killing yourself, ask me what I did, because I was constantly picking up all day and that is why you didn't kill yourself walking in the house!" Also, tell him if he thinks this is bad, wait until you have a NEW newborn and you haven't had sleep and he comes home to the house.

I love your answer--it's so sassy! I also like Tracy's alternate answer. I also like the answer, "Continued construction on our child's internal organs."

You deserve to be lazy!

That sounds like bliss - doing nothing. I am desperately in need of one of those. Soon, I say, soon.

I love it! John and I my husband would enjoy discussing it over a beer.

I'm not pregnant and I don't have a toddler, but I sure can be lazy. I have had many a Saturday or Sunday like that...it's good for you and you really have an excuse. Not that you need one.
