Lighter,Greener Things

And....we have a new movie of choice! And it doesn't involve princesses! (Though it does have a prince, but he's a fairy, so ummmm....well...he's probably pretty good at interior design or something). Thank you to Jo Anne for bringing in something new to our DVD repetoire!

Becca is OBSESSED with marriage at the moment. Which is totally freaking us out. John keeps telling her she can't get married until she is potty trained. She is currently running around with a red pillow sham on her head saying, "I got married!" The other morning John got her out of bed and she said, "I got married in my crib!"

Jo Anne and I took Becca up to a river to throw rocks and sticks and to get out of the house on a beautiful day. Becca got filthy and had a ball. When sitting near that river, I just felt a huge sense of peace wash over me. If I had to choose a waterfront home, would it be on an ocean, lake or river? I really might have to choose a river. I guess it is just a natural human thing to be drawn to water. When asked where I wanted to have my early birthday dinner, I picked another waterfront location where the Susquehanna flows into the Chesapeake. I love looking out at this kind of view.

Also, Jo Anne got me this book for my birthday, and OH MY GOSH--y'all have to get it immediately! Now! Now! Now!

I just perused it a bit last night and have already decided to switch to natural skin care products. It is horrifying when you actually start learning about the chemicals in everyday products! I stopped by a little local health food store today and got some Burt's Bees products for Becca and myself...some lotion, sunscreen, baby bubble bath, baby shampoo, facial cleansers and lip balm. I also threw in some Acai juice to try to boost my immune system.

Anyway, this book is just awesome. It has great ideas for your health and the health of the planet. What else could you want!?

Jo Anne left today, in the rain, leaving us a little drearier than yesterday, but all is well. John and I are having a date night tonight (any good movies y'all can recommend?) Also, Jo Anne is coming back up next Tuesday for two days to help out during my next long ultrasound and O.B. appointment. MAN, I had NO IDEA the bennies of the airlines would come in quite so handy! It isn't quite as good as living near grandparents, but at least it makes being far away a bit more bearable.

I may have to get that book. Although my mom is a walking green lady! She is always forwarding me things about chemicals and what goes on your skin goes in your body and the most important things to stay away from. I usually call her before I call a doctor about anything.

I'll have to get that book for sure!

I remember when I was younger, I always ran around saying I was married to people in my family. The thought of that now scares me....gross!

Elizabeth keeps talking about when she has babies.

Also, your skin does keep OUT a lot of things. In fact, that's what it's there for. I'm not saying that means spread poison on it, obv. But I've been hearing people talking as if basically putting something on your skin is the same as drinking it, and that's not the case.

If that book is suddenly missing from your house, don't look at mine, because it surely isn't here! (I seem to make it to your house far more than any bookstore!)

Good choice switching over to natural skin care products. Better for you and the environment. BTW, your little girl is a cutie.

How are you liking the Burt Bees stuff? I've heard great things about their stuff. And Thumbelina has been a hit around here, too. I agree it was refreshing after the Disney overload for awhile!

Olivia told us yesterday that she wants to have a baby in her belly like when I had Lila in my belly. It was so cute. She hasn't mentioned marriage yet.

I agree with Clara about the skin products. Eco-friendly packaging and earth-friendly products is so much better for the environment and, of course, us!
