No, YOU'RE Schmoopy

Presenting.......a squashed-up looking baby face! The sonographer gave us (Mom and me) a few seconds to view a 3D image--which I've never seen in person before. I have no idea what all that weird gelatinous looking stuff is behind its head, or why everything looks all smudged. But, I do know one thing--that kid has a large forehead.

The prognosis was good today. The blood flow velocity was in the normal range for the first time since the baby contracted the parvovirus. It is still on the high end of normal, but it was under the red line marking the division between normal and not. I was so excited to see it plot out under that damn line that I have been peering at longingly for 7 weeks. Everything else looked good as well. They said "It looks like the baby is recovering." It also appears I shouldn't need another transfusion. We still have to return for an undisclosed number of weeks--until they are really sure that the baby is actually fully recovered.

I'm finally letting myself believe this is real and this is happening. I think we are going to have a baby!

Hooray for good news! I think it has your nose. Amazing for all those ultrasounds it's still 'it' - unless you're holding out on us! Beautiful baby!!

YAY! That is great news all around!

I am amazed at the features you can see on that ultrasound picture. Technology sure is something!

Wonderful news!

I would say after 11 ultrasounds it would definitely get boring. I think we had two, maybe 3 where we got to see very much of the baby each time. Even though we had one every time here, it was about what you were describing with just a few measurements, no face shots, nothing. I didn't even feel the need to remind them that we didn't want to know the gender, because they never went there.Anyway, glad to hear that the baby is recovering, but they are still keeping a close watch.

Maybe this baby is getting out all the craziness before the baby is born and it will be a super easy baby (and delivery of course, I am not sure how that can get any easier)

Those ultrasounds are AMAZING!!

Maybe seeing a little face will make it easier to find names that "fit" the baby.

I'm so glad and relieved tohear that things are goign to turn out so well!

Wow, that is the neatest ultrasound pic. So good to hear that things are getting better and I know that things will continue to get better too! Hang in there and we can't wait to welcome that little one into the world.

Katie, coming from a mom whose child's head circumference was OFF the charts big - your kid comes by it naturally. Big heads are genetic in this family!!!
