First Day of School!

We survived the first day of school! It was only a "Gradual Entry" where the parents went with the kids. It was also only for an hour. I think Becca is the youngest one in the class. She yelled "NO!" at a girl who approached the play food she was playing with. Then she cried when we we told her she had to share the play food with the other kids. But she recovered and (sort of) shared. I think she is going to love going to school. Thursday is her first REAL day (with no parents). Her lucky mom will be hanging out in the doctor's stirrups during her "me time."

So, now for some updates:

1. The polka-dotted house. Thanks to MaryB, I remembered another can of paint I had spied in the basement when she casually mentioned a random paint color name. And wouldn't you know it? It matches! I do not know WHY one wall of one room would be one color and the other wall another color. And the two colors look identical. Why, why WHY? I do not know. But I am glad we no longer have polka dots.

2. Potty training. No longer exists. My kid is no longer potty trained. She just pees whereever and refuses to use the potty. I am partially losing my mind over this. Okay, maybe more than partially.

3. My broken precioussssss. I ordered a replacement online, thanks to the urging my loyal readers. But mostly it was my mom, who told me to get a new one immediately and that she would even be glad to help as a baby gift! Thank you, MOM! This is why we have moms and not just husbands. Husbands do not understand the imperative and urgent nature of things like this (at least mine doesn't.) I can't believe is now HALF THE COST as it was when I intially purchased the camera, but hey! At least I will be able to take photos that don't look like this. Oh my GOD, can you imagine if I was photographing a newborn under these horrible circumstances?

I wonder if it's like my paint situation, where I have Pittsburg Clear Yellow in most of the house, but when I wanted to repaint I color-matched it to Behr Sea Salt and, on another occasion, to a Walmart custom-mix. I'll bet the colors would look different if I tried to patch one with another, but they all look the same on adjoining walls.

I'm so glad about the new camera!

Thursday is Liv's first day of school too. It's a Portuguese school and it remains to be seen if she can hack the language barrier! But, that's a whole post...

So glad to hear you ordered a new camera! Whew!

My newborn WILL be getting photos taken of him that look like that! My shitty camera sucks and I'm praying that my husband will come around by them and purchase me one as my "push present." I can only hope!

Glad you got a new camera. Now, you could still get the old one fixed (if it's not too much) and sell it or keep as a backup!

Cute photos of Becca. She looks so grown up.

I am really worrying about Ashlyn's first day. Glad to hear that Becca's went well and look forward to the first full day.

School! I can't believe how grown-up Becca looks (as well as totally adorable) in her outfit. How are YOU handling the change?

And yay for correct paint colors and a new camera!

Thank GOODNESS for the new camera. Because you are way too close to NEW BABY time. And there is all of US, wanting new baby/ big sister pics.

Those first day of school pics nearly choked me up. She looks like such a little girl! Just in time to start all over again with the second!

I am SO glad she had fun. I am SO glad you will soon have mommy time. And I am so glad you have a new baby (precioussssssssss) on the way. I was seriously trying to figure out how I could be there for the birth and get the needed pictures!!J/J

You do realize you are going to have to put this baby on a schedule from day one (you might want to start talking to it now) that he/she will not be on a feeding schedule during the school times. Then maybe you will be able to get some mommy time in while John baby bonds!!

The picture of her on the steps reminds me of the one of you about that age.

Did you say your part already came in or did you take those first pics with your older camera? Doesn't really matter. BTW...your "regift" is in the mail!

I see you bought a new camera!!

Actually, the new camera hasn't arrived yet. The old one still works as long as you don't need auto focus or a flash. So, outside pictures with no flash are okay! But, I can't wait for the new one to get here!

Oh, those pictures of Becca are so cute. I want to hear the voice that goes along with that sweet face. I believe your adoring public is overdue for a video....

(Did I ever send you the links to Claire videos on youtube?)
