Quick Update....

I just walked in the door for a quick break from the hospital. I was discharged and hopefully Andrew will be discharged this evening. I am hoping we will all be home tonight for a long, sleepless night!

He is doing well! They got worried about him breathing rapidly about 8 hours after he was born and whisked him off to the NICU. Although, as soon as he was admitted there it never happened again. So, that was weird. He also has the OPPOSITE problem of anemia--he has too many red blood cells now. It was vital that he stay hydrated, so they put a feeding tube in for a while since he was too tired to suck on anything.
Here is Mr. Lazy being "fed" while just sleeping like a limp noodle.

But, the tube came out this morning (he pulled it out) and he's been nursing well since last night. So, everything is looking great! We just have to have his EKG read by the person in charge and if they don't see any problems, they will release him tonight! The red blood cell thing should just correct itself, so they aren't worried about it.
Oh, I have a good labor and delivery story to tell y'all, but it will have to wait until we are all home and settled. For now I have just a couple hours to nap and to catch up with Becca before we head back to the hopsital! I'll post more later!

These pictures are cute, but they do not do Andrew justice! He is the most beautiful baby EVER! It's great to see Katie happy and relieved after her roller coaster pregnancy. Big sister Becca has yet to really take Andrew in, but in the meantime, she and her daddy have loads of fun together. It's all fabulous! I'm loving every minute!

Oh, he is SO SWEET. The tube would be alarming, but your photo about Mr. Lazy being fed while sound asleep is so funny, and he looks so radiantly healthy, it takes the alarm out of it.

Well said, Grandpa Jack!

Katie, on your next post, confirm the spelling of Andrew's name. Someone asked me if I was sure of the spelling of Mr. Andrew Wesley (mainly the middle name) and I forgot to check with you and post it! Again congrats. I hope you get a few hours of sleep tonight.

What a sweet, sweet baby! It makes me want to hold another new little one, though I told Allen last night that he should check into getting a vasectomy.

I'm glad to hear that he is doing well. Enjoy him as much as you can.

Adorable...but I knew he would be! Glad to hear he's doing better and can't wait to get the update. Brady says he's ready for a playdate...in the sandbox...with lots of dirt and trucks....while the girls watch princess movies!
