The Great Pumpkin Caper

We had our first family outing last weekend to a farm in Pennsylvania for pumpkin picking, hay rides, corn mazes, apple picking and a family photo including Andrew wearing a pumpkin hat. Except we didn't make it to the apples, or the corn mazes, and the hay rides weren't running that early in the morning, and this is as close to a family photo as we got since I had three unwilling participants.
How about this pumpkin?

Taking two kids out, even with two adults, is really just a giant pain in the ass. Especially when one of them has to be attached to my boob the entire time, thus rendering my arms useless and putting a serious crimp in my photo taking plans. No photo of kids nestled amongst piles of pumpkins. WHY, GOD WHY?

It was our first time ever picking pumpkins and despite the hot sun beating down on a crying newborn who wanted to nurse but was pissed off about being jammed in a sling, I had a good time. Plus, we stopped at Pizza Hut on the way home and got home in time for naps. So, it was a good day in my book.

This is the time for burnt orange! Is that an orange bow I see on Becca's head? Hey - for that foreground, she needs orange! Thank goodness you didn't dress her in pink!

Hi, Brutus! I've been too busy grandbevo-ing to pay any attention to football. Hope you and your team are doing well!

Go Buckeyes!

Seeing John holding Andrew just made my mind go blank. That baby. He is so LITTLE and SNUGGLEY.

You are a brave woman for going pumpkin picking. It is one of my all-time favorite days of the year, but with a newborn... you deserve a medal.

cute hat. Randy went pumpkin picking in a shirt almost that same color. Going out in public is like a clown act isn't it? It gets easier!

It sounds like you went SO FAR to pick pumpkins! I'm sure PA is much closer to you than it is in my mind, but going to a different state! Woohoo.

Very cute pic of John and Andrew. Next year will be better...if you count chasing 2 small children all over the pumpkin patch "better"!

He is so tiny. So tiny. I can't even imagine what that is like! I guess when you birth a giant, little babies seem so much smaller. I love the color coordination, adorable!

Oh, and I so want to go to a pumpkin patch. I'm sure that mine wouldn't cooperate any better for photos, because, of course, that's why I want to go.

And, yeah, it gets easier with two.
