The Year of the Princess

It is Becca's third birthday today and I really can't believe it. She looks so much more like a KID now. The word "toddler" really doesn't seem to apply anymore. This year she moved into a big girl bed, she got (nearly) potty trained, she started preschool, she loved having playmates, she became a big sister, she was really into imaginative play, re-enacting scenes from her favorite movies. Her favorite toys are My Little Ponies and anything "princess," especially Snow White. Her favorite books are the ones she can talk you into after you tell her "No more books, it is time for bed." She loves playing "soccer" and hide-and-seek with her daddy. She is still the happy, smiling, good-natured, roll-with-the-punches kid she has always been. Though, we have entered a "drama" phase, but we won't discuss that today.

We had her party last night and I will post some photos later. When she woke up this morning I said, "Happy Birthday!" She said, "I already had my birthday." I tried to explain that today was her actual birthday, and we just had her party last night. She said, "I don't want any more birthday." But, when I suggested she might eat some of her birthday cake for breakfast, she changed her tune. Here is the annual birthday video. You can see year one here and year two here.

Joshua and David and I just enjoyed watching Becca's video. "We liked it." The boys kept saying "that's just like Sarah" (their dramatic 2 1/2 year old sister). Thank you for sharing! Happy Birthday Becca!!!
