So Long...

The workmen have arrived today. Hooray! See you later black plastic garbage bag-like fake marble-lookin' tacky ass linoleum.
Bye-Bye countrified guard rail that closed off the smallest rooms in the house and made it impossible to walk all the way around the kitchen table. (Though I will miss having you to hang coats and purses on, though, come to think of it, that looked pretty bad too).

So long hideous junction of three different floors. So. Effing. Long.

Goodbye angled, diagonal brass tin-foil like threshold thing.

Get out of here wrinkledy unstretched and juice-stained carpet.
Good riddance broken-doored, taking-up-the-all-the-light-in-the-room armoire (even though I slaved over finishing your sorry ass with minwax and tung oil and that was a lot of work and you were once my finest accomplishment and nicest piece of furniture.)
And, ummm....hello to everything we own being shoved in one room.

I tallied the votes. And y'all picked the MOST expensive rug with nine votes. H. Damn. I don't think I would have put that one on the list if I had looked at the price more closely. Y'all have some good taste.

Second place was rug C with seven votes. Something about C makes me uncomfortable though. I am not sure if it looks too brown/faded. I really need to see it in person.

I also mentioned a $160 dollar rug. That was F. And that one received three votes, five votes if you count the two people who voted for the price tag. F is my favorite in appearance. But it is about a foot narrower than the others. I'm not sure it would fit exactly right.

But, it turns out that A is even CHEAPER with a price of $154. And it received five votes. And, I'm assuming the two people who voted for the price tag of $160 would go with the $154 price since it is even cheaper. So, that makes seven votes for A, which ties it with C. Since the price is drastically cheaper than H and significantly cheaper than C and not overly narrow, I think A wins.
Here is another photo of it.
I am not totally wild about it, but for that price? I think it is the clear winner. Thanks for the votes! Now I just have to figure out if I order it online from TarJay, if I can return it if it is ugly/cheap-looking in person.

I LOVE having contractors come in and rip out the ugly parts of my house, leaving me only with dust and a gorgeous brand new something (preferably a new floor!). Love. Yay for you! I hope it turns out beautifully, and I can't wait to see the final pics.

I'm sure you will love the rug, for the price and the newness and the fact that you won't see the spills.

Oooohhh! YAY! I'm so glad you're getting rid of that linoleum. That was the only thing about your house that I didn't TOTALLY LOVE! I think this will make a big dent on your need to rearrange furniture, etc. I can't wait to see it in person! And I'm so glad I voted for the two winning rugs. Honestly, I think everyone liked most of the rugs, so I would go with the cheaper of the one you liked.

Yeah for the contractors! Yes, I'd go with the best cheap/nice looking combination on the rug. Juice will continue to spill....at least it does at our house! Enjoy!

I think that it will be nice no matter what rug you pick. Especially, with new floors.
