Therapy!

Still purging over here. Except now it is closet contents. Look what I just pulled out of the storage closet in the basement. And it is all leaving my house. AAAAAAAAAh. I just took a deep, cleansing and ecstatic breath. I think clearing out closets may be one of the best mood-altering drugs in existence.

This is all GOING AWAY. Ugly maternity clothes (the good ones are going to friends), baby girl clothes (the good ones are going to friends), and baby boy clothes already outgrown. I haven't even added all the toys that I'm ditching. See you later UGLY ASS, ill-fitting maternity clothes with stains. Hello storage space!

This is what is left in the closet.
Do you see that middle bin? It is labeled "Keep Forever." That is ALL the baby clothes I will be keeping for both children. It also includes baby clothes from John and me. If it doesn't fit in there, I'm not keeping it. The other two bins are clothes that Andrew hasn't grown into yet. And once he outgrows them, they're outta there as well. I am trying to give poor Swistle a little mental boost. See how cleansing this can be?

Look at all that space! I wish I had taken a before photo. But it was stuffed. Full. Things would fall out on your toe when you opened the door. Trust.

So, what should I put there? A new dining room suite? I may just have enough room in there. Ooohhh. It could be a mommy nap room. I could put a lock on the door and no one would ever find me. Maybe I could put a little bar in there. A mommy time-out room with cocktails for everyone!?

I'm working on the same therapy over here! Although, as of right now, it's more of an ass pain than anything because I don't know where to put the stuff I want to keep. I'm in desperate need of stylish organizing bins. I placed an order with Pottery Barn, only to find that what I wanted was going to cost me $!65 bucks. JESUS CHRIST, WHAT!??
I wish we lived near one another because it seems as if we're always on the quest for the same fabulousness!

I might hate you a little right now! I SO want to do that, but can't since I don't know if I'm having a girl!!! AGGHHH! I'm sure I'll keep all those damn baby girl clothes for another several months and then have a boy and all this time I could have been purging! How I love to clean closets!

And I cannot WAIT to get rid of (maybe burn?) my maternity clothes. Hate.

Okay, I admit it, that's pretty satisfying. Yesterday I went through and emptied a couple of boxes. Looking at the actual items made me sad---but looking at the empty shelf space was happy.

Do you hire out? Grampy Ralph would love to have a designated "throwing out" person available. . .

Come visit and help me do the same! Tara has good instincts, too, about what to purge!

Hate to break it to you but there's a big box of clothes headed your way on Saturday! Seriously, not that bad. The closet looks FABULOUS! I cannot wait to throw/give away the maternity clothes. Really want to have a burning ceremony for some of them. You should make the closet your George Costanza nap zone. Install a little shelf, cozy pillow and retractable bar. You might never leave.

I am so totally jealous. Where do you find your energy? How on earth do you get all this stuff done?
