John and I thought we were going to be so cool last night. I got him a replacement XBox 360 for his birthday (after his old one bit the dust) and a new Guitar Hero game.
So, at about 8:30 when both kids were asleep, we got our drink on (Coke Zeros. We needed caffeine to stay up past 9:00) and we headed to the basement.
Look at us! We are so cool! We were all but tweeting and texting (and sexting, I hear, is the new thing.)
We cranked up the XBox and totally started jamming. (Is jamming still the right term? What do they call it these days? Rockin' out? WHATTELLMEIDON'TKNOWTHESETHINGSANYMORE)
And then, after one song each we had carpal tunnel syndrome and broken necks. We were cradling our sore forearms and rubbing our sore necks. Then we went to bed early, dreading the night full of children waking us up every other hour, which they totally did. We might as well just start calling ourselves elderly at this point, so lame are we.

Ah, what can I say that I haven't said before? Yes, Yes, Yes. I especially like your drink on.....no alcohol, just caffeine. Love it.
Your children WILL sleep through the night (someday), but you will still be too tired to stay up late. Sorry to break the bad news.
Welcome to lameville, it isn't so bad after you have been here awhile! At least there is still adult beverages here! And believe me, you will be in GOOD company!

I thought you were going to say that you were all revved up and then the XBox broke or the guitar didn't work... Look, you are WAY too young to be falling apart. You are actually suffering from sick kids, sleep deprivation, and overwork.

Teheee..I'm delurking to say "Where are the pictures of the mail man?" Ok ok...so NOT funny. I think he looks like a combination of you and your husband. Whoever he looks like...that person is highly handsome.
