A Great Wind

I have so many MANY photos to go through. Here are my favorites from our beach stay at Sanibel Island in Florida. We went with Jo Anne and Jim. It was awesome. I loved, loved, LOVED it there. I highly recommend it! The island was really low-key and natural. No high rises. Not much going on. No crowded beaches. No crazy drunken college students. Just beautiful white sand beaches covered in gorgeous shells, with a few friendly families roaming about. They even had rainbows two nights in a row. Made to order, I tell you. I saw it as a perfect opportunity to start the (half) year-long Christmas card photo attempt, much to my family's chagrin.
Check out the rainbow in the background!

Papa, Gee Gee, Me and the kiddos on the beach at sunset.
Possibly one of my favorite times on a beach ever. It was beautiful.

Don't let this picture fool you. This baby was a PAIN in the ass at the beach. The worst possible age. He just wanted to crawl off the towel and stuff fistfuls of sand in his mouth. Luckily there was a pool right outside our cottage and we could all be out there when he was napping. Both kids loved being in the pool.

We also had enough adults around to really make this do-able. I don't think I'd like to travel to a beach with small children without at least two extra adults!

Sunset on the beach. Fabulous.

Becca loved the beach like nothing else.
She would have stayed out there all day if we'd let her! I loved watching her dance in the waves and run about with abandon and glee.

Nothing like a post-beach post-bath baby. Nothing.

My little champion travellers.

Of course, the concourse did look like this for a while after Becca said there was "a great wind" and threw her toys in every direction with much gusto:

We were watching the lightning outside the windows. I guess it was only fitting. And yes, my son is, in fact, trying to launch himself out the window. He's brilliant!

My girls love the beach too and it is truly a shame that we do not go often enough. As it is 100 meters from our yard.

The pictures are fabulous!!

Glad to read you had such a great time!

okay, the beach is 200 yards from our house. But, still. We don't go enough.
