My Hysteria is Waning...

I am now in Austin, where I do not believe there are any confirmed swine flu cases (yet)--or if there are, I'm blissfully uninformed (and please don't tell me otherwise)-- and so I am kind of actually going out in public. Just a little. Which is a small improvement from my utter hibernation of last week. Sort of. I'm still armed with the biggest jumbo sized container of Lysol wipes at all times, but still. I'm leaving the house.

Unfortunately, the first casualty of living out of a suitcase in other peoples' homes is that I have lost my card reader for my camera. So, I can't post any of the millions of pictures I've been taking. Too bad for you, because I have some seriously cute ones of my kids with their grandparents. Oh, wait. I do have some from Jo Anne's phone. Here is one.

And, here's another. Can you guess what is going on in this picture?

My guess is that he's falling asleep into his Cheerios.

Glad to see you have come out of hibernation. We miss you! Hopefully we will all still be well by the time you return, because we have been well for the majority of the time you have been gone! Figures!

He's either examining that crunchy morsel VERY CLOSELY, or he's fallen asleep in the process.

I can't believe how much he's starting to look like Becca!

Hope you're feeling better as the flu stuff calms down a bit.

OH! And I've been meaning to email you for WEEKS to tell you what I was doing with a hammer drill while working in small holes in the bedrock: I was constructing a steel cave gate on a cave entrance (at a public land that I manage) that keeps getting vandalized. I'm sure you weren't losing any sleep over it, but there you go.

Love the sleeping picture!

I drank and cooked with raw milk today from the farm where we are staying. It's so not "American" but totally the way to go, if you can, in Ireland. It was so weird. I kept picturing myself hanging over the toilet, or being stuck to it, b/c of some kind of disease for not boiling the milk after it was given to us. We are fine though and the milk was SOOO tasty!I know that a lot of lactose intolorate people can drink raw milk. Makes me wonder what "good stuff" we're boiling out in order to make it "safe" to drink. All that being said, the hypochondriac in me, was really hesitant to drink said milk. Glad I did though. Will use it w/organic, free range chicken and duck egg for breakfast tomorrow...send hypochondriac-free vibes my way!
