So, Andrew was out of puffs. And kind of pissed about it. And so my mom said, "Do you have any Cheerios?" And I thought, "Yes. We do." And then I said, "Wow....the second kid is so different. I wouldn't have dreamt of giving Becca sugary honey nut Cheerios before the regular kind, but all I have is the honey nut kind and we're desperate, so...hopefully he'll take the regular kind at some point later."
And....I wasn't thinking straight and I GAVE MY BABY NUT PRODUCTS! (And honey--another bad idea--for that matter.)
If you know me, you know that nuts are the very LAST thing I would knowingly give to a baby. A baby who has two parents that carry the "allergy gene" according to Becca's allergist (who told me not even to eat nut products while nursing!) I still can't believe I did that.
He didn't seem to have a reaction, but I can tell you I did. Luckily, my hyperventilation was cured with a delicious mexican martini that my dad served in breakable antique glassware.
