My Uncle Phil, Aunt Linda and cousin Jonathan were in town last weekend. We had a great time, but I totally spaced out on taking photos of everyone! Linda and I took the kids to Ladew Topiary Gardens. It was beautiful. Becca had an absolute ball running amok and disappearing into hidden garden rooms. Linda is an avid gardener and it was fun to walk around with someone who knew so much.
It wasn't very stroller friendly in places...
Naturally, we had some attitude from time to time...
Sitting on a bench carved into the circular brick wall surrounding the rose garden.
And, my crowning moment of glory. Both kids smiling!

It made my attempt at gardening seem even more pathetic than before. (Something I didn't realize was possible.) As I wandered around the acres of beautiful gardens, I felt inspired to get on the ball at my house. Peonies! I'll plant peonies! And irises! But, then I looked around at the chaos going on inside the house and changed my mind. I guess I should concentrate on bathing my children instead. Maybe next year, right?

Yes, it's great having Linda as a traveling companion. I always learn a ton - she does her homework. Well, she DID her homework all those years and REMEMBERS all sorts of information! Glad you guys had a chance to visit.
GREAT picture of the kiddos!
That place looks so pretty! You should schedule a photo shoot there next spring!
I love picture of the two of them smiling!!
The place looks beautiful.
I would love to visit that place - how pretty!!
Best pic of A & B ever!!! Love it!
Ok, first of all, I so LOVE the sleeping beauty thing. Of course I can say that from a distance but dangit I think its cute. Second- love the picture of the two kids- Andrew is looking so grown up! I've noticed in the last few weeks that the kids sort of kind of interact and actually play/entertain each other. Its a beautiful beautiful thing. And- as far as the gardening goes....yeah- I was all on that whole "small corners" thing this spring and attacked the flower bed in our front yard with great fevor. I bought all sorts of beautiful tropical flowering things and you know what I have now? A weed garden. So, its like A for effort, but I didn't realize how much MAINTENANCE plants needed. The cement bungalow is looking super-fab in a trailer park sort of way.
Great Pics Katie!!
I never got that green thumb. we had a garden once in 21 yrs. Grew mostly weeds. I would love to have a green cement yard.
I noticed that Becca didn't worry much about being separated from Mom when she was at the Ladew Gardens -- especially when she had a kitty to pet.
Love,
(Great) Aunt Linda
