Haven't Dropped off the Face (yet)

We've just been busy (which I LOVE)! Until I get around to posting more, here are some photos from our recent excursions to Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. And, here I am with my kung fu fighting criss-crossed sword carriers. Or, maybe it is just a camera bag and a bag containing a breast pump. You decide which. Am Mom. Will travel. I'll also let you guess which city boasts this sign on a police station building. Here's a hint...it has the second highest homicide rate in the nation in cities over 250,000. Come visit!
I'm really enjoying the juxtaposition between a 3-year old and a 12-year old. The 3-year old is a pain when it comes to waking up at 5:45 a.m., getting her dressed and out the door, whining, having potty accidents, needing something every 0.0003 seconds, etc. She is also more dramatic (for reals!) but also more affectionate with her mommy. Her problems are small, but her physical energy requirements from me are big. But the 12-year old brings (nonstop) texting and boys and mean girls and sleeping until noon and big pre-teen problems...which is interesting and scary and daunting. But, the 12-year old can bring in the groceries from the car and sit down on the couch with you and watch a chick flick with you and have girl talk and make her own macaroni and cheese and put her own plate in the dishwasher. So, that rules.

Whenever I hang out with my cousin's 7-year-old, I think SEVEN must be such a GREAT age. He's so rational! And funny! And almost never pees his pants!

I love that you always have family in town!
Be honest Katie, are you really carrying around your pump?! I would rather pull up to a bench in the shade and whip it out. Gah. Pumping. I cannot wait to be done nursing, but mostly, pumping!!!

I didn't have a baby with me! He was at home with a sitter for 12 hours, so I had to pump! (But I FULLY agree. I HATE doing it. HATE.)

How fun! I love summer goings on.

Oooh, although 2 and 3 are difficult ages, I sort of dread the whole girl teenager(s!) thing in our future. The drama! The angst! Maybe Erin is right and 7 will rule. Only a few more years till then...

Fells Point! You weren't all that far from me. I agree on the pumping while away from baby. Hated it.
