My Shoes Match My Blog (But Are They Ugly?)

Yesterday I ran into the mall, tried two pair of Asics running shoes on and quickly bought one pair. They felt good. I took them home and wore them around for awile. They felt....okay. Not fabulous. Not as good as they felt in the store. But, they looked normal. Regular running shoes. Good price. Just not quite right.

I decided to take them back today and to try on the new (slightly more expensive) Nike running shoes with this new super light-weight construction. I tried on the white pair, which was just too.....white. And then I tried on those black ones up there. Wow. The most light-weight comfy shoe EVER. I quickly exchanged the Asics and took those babies home. The black is definitely weird...but kind of trendy. And very comfortable.

I just put them on. And.....now I don't know. It seems the widest part of my foot doesn't quite fit on the insole and is stretching the outside of the shoe. That can't be good. But other than that, they feel good! I really love the feeling of the shoe....but they just aren't quite right. Does this mean I have to take them back? I guess I do.

What do you think of the black? Is it just too weird? I think it looks cute with workout pants...but what about the summer? Can you wear them with shorts and capris? Not sure I can picture that.....

I say great for the gym. They are cute and I see lots of black shoes at the gym lately.

However, I do not like the look of running shoes with capris, never have. Something just isn't right about it. I have tried it a few times and felt like a giant nerd.

I feel pretty much the same way about everyday shorts (obviously work out shorts are a different story) and running shoes unless I am going hiking. I would much rather buy a "fashion" tennis shoe to wear with shorts if I will be doing a lot of walking about town and I almost always wear sandals with my capris these days.

Was that too much?

Very cute for workout clothes. Not sure about the every day wear. think the black would take all the focus down to the feet. :)

I should have specified how would they look with WORKOUT shorts and capris. I definitely can't see them with khaki capris or anything! :) I just don't even know about with running shorts....

LOVE THEM with workout clothes of any length or variety, and I can particularly picture them with BLACK and/or HOT PINK workout clothes. I also think they would look cute with boot-cut jeans (NOT SKINNY JEANS) and a black or hot pink hoodie for your all-by-yourself errand running :).

P.S. My daughter is in high school, and lots of her friends have these, so I am thinking they must be hip :).

Now that y'all convinced me to keep them, I went back to find a size that fit better.....and none of them fit better. They are too narrow. Back to square one....

have you looked at Brooks running shoes? My feet are pretty slender except the ball of my foot (I am not sure what that part is called). Brooks are just wide enough in that area but not to wide anywhere else. Theya re definitely spendy, but worth the money!!!
