The Boob Tube

I feel like the writers strike is starting to cut into my lifestyle in a way I do NOT appreciate. On the other hand, it is giving me some time to devote to some new shows. I am really liking Cashmere Mafia and I am also recording Lipstick Jungle. I see that Brothers and Sisters will have a new episode this weekend. I have had plenty of time to devote to Oprah and American Idol since there isn't much competition.

But, I miss Desperate Housewives and The Office!

And, I really miss Barney on PBS. Ever since the writers' strike went on there haven't been ANY NEW SHOWS. So, I have the same four on my DVR from last November. I don't know if it is just a coincidence--did Barney just go off the airwaves forever? Or is it strike-related? Whatever the reason, it is pissing me off! So, what are y'all watching on TV these days?

The Office is as good as therapy for me. I look at the news anxiously every day for updates as to when this strike may end!

So, I feel your pain.

LOST is back, praise Jesus.

However, there is a hole in my heart that can only be filled by Dwight Schrutte.

Ooooh, the Office, I miss you!!!! I recently had a dream I went on a date with Jim (the character, not the actor) and let him know how much I missed the show.

I watch a lot of Project Runway, Housewives of Orange County, redecorating shows, House Hunters, and I did watch Lipstick Jungle. It was pretty good. I hope it catches on, but we will see.

A Daily Show With Jon Stewart
The Colbert Report
The Today Show
Rock of Love With Bret Michaels
The First 48
Real World/Road Rules Challenge
UFC

That is all. I don't even bother finding other things to watch.

I would love to watch Lost, but I have only seen about half of one season....I guess I need to rent it from the start, but that seems so daunting! I know I would love that show though....

Noel--I've never even HEARD of The First 48 and I had no idea Road Rules was still on TV! (LOSER ALERT OVER HERE!)

I mean that I'm the loser, not you! :) I feel out of it!

I just watched LOST on abc.com and they have all the seasons there. It's not the same as watching on TV, but at least you do not have to go rent it or buy it.

Thomas the Tank Engine is on all day here.

Oh I KNOW! It's killing me. I miss my shows (none of which you or your readers watch, I'm sure, so I won't bore you), and have found myself not watching TV at night! I have no idea what I do otherwise - laundry? internet? yes, internet! - but there just isn't much out there. I did record Lipstick Jungle, but I haven't watched it yet. I tried 'Eli Stone' last night, but it was just 'meh'.

I love The Biggest Loser. I also really liked Cashmere Mafia, but only watch it by accident because I can't remember what night it comes on. I almost turned to Lipstick Jungle last night, but it sounded so similar to Cashmere mafia I didn't bother. I just went to sleep. Otherwise I flip from hgtv to cnn to headline news to junk celebrity news and back. What a loser I am!

ooooh, Biggest Loser - I watch for Trainer Bob!!

The first 48 is a weekly standard in our house. I get a little grossed out, sad or paranoid, so I don't usually watch while Ben isn't home. It is about the 1st 48 hours after a homocide. The rule is if they don't have a solid lead after the 1st 48, they usually go cold. You should check it out on A&E.

New Brothers and Sisters??? Really? I had not heard this! Yay!!! I loves me some Rob Lowe....

And, the writer's strike sucks. I heard that Michael Moore wants to start a penny campaign. We each contribute one penny for ewach show we watch that needs its wrtiters back and it would be enough $$ to meet the writers' demands.

I think I need better tv. I don't watch most of what everyone commented on. I do watch BIGGEST LOSER. I love Bob, but would prefer to be trained by Jillian. She would so kick my ass into shape. We also watch Friday night Lights, Las Vegas (ohh bring me some Josh Duhamel), House (he is such a jerk, but funny), and CSI. HGTV is a favorite. pretty much Disney, Nick, Noggin, PBS and anything movie with princesses are what grace our TV on a daily basis.

Back to Sears a moment - got this email from a friend:

IDIOT SIGHTING :
We had to have the garage door repaired. The Sears repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a "large" enough motor on the opener. I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one Sears made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower. He shook his head and said, "Lady, you need a 1/4 horsepower." I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4. He said, "NO, it's not." Four is larger than two.."

We haven't used Sears repair since.

I HATE THE WRITERS STRIKE.

I actually watched TWO episodes of One Tree Hill when Brett was out of town recently. It was horrible and I had to wash my brain out with soap afterward, but at least it was fresh tv.

We're mostly watching shows on dvd. We just finished Season One of 30 Rock (hilarious). Now we're on Season Two of Big Love. I hated that show at first and now I'm addicted.

Matt has kindly offered to let that repairman join his Special Ed 4th grade math class, as they are reviewing that concept right now.

Yikes.
