I'm (hoping) to be off and running tomorrow on a trip to Minnesota. Both of my dad's parents are turning 90 this month and we're having a celebration/family reunion of sorts up there. I am really excited about it and looking forward to it. Most importantly, I am actually calm about getting up at 4 a.m. and travelling standby--alone with two kids--and renting a car and driving up to the small town where my dad is from. All by myself! I swear! I feel okay about it! Really.
(Except for the teeny part of me that can't figure out how I'm going to get all the crap from the baggage claim to the rental cars and how to get the carseats and stuff installed while the kids are entertaining themselves in the parking lot. But we'll worry about that later! For now I'm focusing on the positive.)
I love Minnesota in the summer!
(Except for the hordes of mosquitoes that put Alaska's to shame!)
