Up to HERE

For Rent: One cranky toddler. Wakes up at midnight, 4 a.m., 5:30 a.m. and 6:11 a.m. Does not nap. Whines.

For Sale: One malfunctioning alarm clock that goes off randomly at 4:45 a.m. and does not stop beeping. Even when unplugged and thrown down the basement stairs, kicked and flung outside. May be possessed. Still beeping. Holy shit someone stop it.

Does it have battery backup? Maybe you need to take them out?

How annoying!

Also, our fire alarm is doing the same thing. It is sitting in our yard, with no battery and not plugged in (obviously) and STILL chirping.

David is bringing home a new battery for it today. If he forgets, I putting that damn thing in his car! Then, hopefully the chirping will remind him!

So, so SOOO sorry Katie. I remember getting very annoyed one night at reserves when I had a "possessed" alarm clock. I feel for you because I couldn't imagine adding that on top of a child that couldn't sleep through the night.

I bet if you put that same title of Craigs list (the one about the alarm clock not the kid) you would get some hits for it. Maybe reading the directions would help, or better yet, buy one of those that has the bells at the top. There isn't too much to learn on that one. It is also more portable, so when throwing it at the ass crack of dawn, you don't have to unplug it first!

Take it to a dumpster far, far away!

I also have a whiny toddler who gets up every morning WAY TOO EARLY

Yes. The blasted thing has batteries and I can't seem to open the compartment to get them out. It may require a tool. And I was so addled when it went off that I pushed every single button until the whole thing was flashing with two different alarms set and none would turn OFF. I finally brought it inside this morning and remembered how to turn it off. It is the worst design of an alarm clock I have EVER seen. Terrible!

I hate teething! Or whatever ailment causes toddlers to do these things that make us crazy!

We used to have a baby toy like that. The dang thing started singing it's song and it never, ever stopped. We put it in a drawer and covered it up with blankets at the beach house and the following spring we went to get a blanket out and the damned thing was still singing, just not as loudly!! Needless to say, that toy went to the dump way too late....

Dude, that is WAAAaaay too much waking up. Seriously. I say take the battery backup out of both the clock AND the toddler, and stick them outside just to be safe. Also recommended: tylenol pm (for you) and red wine (also for you, but hey, if some mixes into that sippy cup... wellllll...)

Hey, did you see the new button at the bottom of the comment page? I can have your comments emailed to me! Now that is what I call keeping up with blogging (and I guess I just have to check email all day and not flip through all the blogs.. multitasking at its best!) Have a great weekend, can't wait to read about it!
