Sleep Deprivation May Not Be the Problem

Back when I was a new parent, foggy and sleep-deprived and confused and befuddled, I did some dumb things. With time, the sleeping got better and better, life got easier. Last night I slept 10 hours! Uninterrupted!

I woke refreshed, energetic and happy. I barely even needed any coffee this morning. I cheerfully loaded Becca into the car and drove off down the highway, going about 60 mph. About five minutes later, I saw Becca standing up in her car seat and trying to climb over the seat back.

I hope K-Fed doesn't come take custody of Becca because I was too high on sufficient good-quality sleep to buckle her into her carseat.

Oh my! I did that shortly after Claire was born. I would like to say it was sleep deprivation, but I think it was more than that. Things like that do make you feel bad for people like Britney, who may just be caught on film doing dumb things more often than we are.

I have totally done that multiple times when Jack was younger...I'd chalk it up to being overcome with the glory of 10 hours of continuous sleep!

What is my excuse, I was driving on a major interstate with construction and realized after about 20 minutes of driving that I had not buckled in Caitie. That will get your heart pumping if it wasn't before!

I've been there and done that too!

I forgot to buckle in my triplets and they climbed over the seat and started driving the car and it got caught on film by the paparazzi and now they are famous moviestars with big mansions.

I can totally understand how this would happen. The other day, Emmett was sleeping in his car seat on top of the kitchen counter. We were ready to go out, so I just put the baby & carseat in the car without buckling him in. I pulled over half way down the street when it dawned on me. Luckily Emmett can't get up so there was no climbing over the seat!

HAHAHAHA! I wish Noelle would comment because it reminds me of a time when we were in Korea and Kristana was falling over in the back seat. I remember her sweet face cruising along sideways!

Hey! At least she doesn't unbuckle her own seat belt. Luke has been doing that now. He unbuckles the bottom part and slides forward, catching his neck on the top part which is still buckled!!!! He looks like he hanging himself! Wasn't a fun trip last weekend up to Dallas with him doing that all 5 hours!!!!
