My Favorite Things

So, Oprah has her favorites, and now her guests have their favorites. And, I made a half-hearted attempt at it last year, but here are this year's favorite things. If I were rich I would assemble a basket of these things for each and every one of you for Christmas. But, since I'm not, you'll have to make do with this "Virtual Gift Basket."

Delphiniums

Pinot Noir (I haven't had this particular kind, but hey! I'm sure it is good!)

Creamy, Creamy Brie

White Musk from The Body Shop

Fluffy white pillows, down comforters and crisp white sheets--sleeping in them, not just looking at them and laundering them. Sleeping in them for 9 uninterrupted hours.

Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream Chips

Fresh, Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, grilled

Bath and Body Shop's Coconut Lime Verbena Body Splash.
My favorite movie
Bath and Body's Works Aromatherapy Lavender Vanilla.
Best. Smell. Ever.

Favorite Beer of All Time.
Best if drunk outside your tent in Alaska, watching the sunset around 2 a.m.
Self-Explanatory

L.L. Bean Fleece Jackets

OPI Nail polish in Bubble Bath

Books--Contemporary Literature, such as:
James Avery Craftsman Silver Earrings

Of course, I can't leave out my three favorites, but they aren't coming in your gift baskets because they would eat all the snacks! So! There you have it. What are your favorite things?

My favorites, Nicholas Sparks books(I know, you don't like them, but), Twix bars, King sized bed also with a big fluffy down blanket, and GREAT GREAT sheets, A great pair of shoes, comfortable, and VERY stylish, a good, free babysitter on demand, bubble bath and candles, a fabulous massage at least once a week, a pair of long and lean Gap jeans that when you put them one fit like a glove but are SO comfortable, a great comfy sweater to keep you warm, a copy of Sweet Home Alabama, and of course my three favorite things, Randy, Madison and Caitie (and those wouldn't be in the my virtual basket either) Wow, that was long winded!

Ooooh! I love your favorite things. I may need to check out some of that smelly good stuff at The Body Shop. It's been a long time since I bought something smelly good like that. I also really like the earrings. I'm in this window of time that I can wear earrings again (Calum's old enough not to pull on them, Emmett's too young), so I think that qualifies as reason to buy new ones.

My favorite things include New Balance trail walking shoes, slippers that hug my ankles (not the slip-on kind, but ones that keep my ankles warm too), and cupcakes.

Hey, I like that Lavender Vanilla stuff too! I have the shampoo and the body wash and the lotion, and I'm hoping to get the pillow spray and the conditioner for Christmas.

Good post idea- I'll be borrowing that in the future!

I just finished Life of Pi YESTERDAY. WOW. So tell me, was he in the boat with animals or people??

Also, Barbara Kingsolver is probably my favorite author of all time. Have you read Bean Trees? Prodigal Summer?

Yes. I'm a book nerd.

Marie Green--I haven't read Bean Tree, but I've read Prodigal Summer. I liked it, but it was nowhere NEAR as good as Poisonwood, in my opinion. As for Pi....oh MY! I just about couldn't believe the ending to that book. It was unbelievable. I just got so much out of it and I guess my whole realization is that while it may be a better story one way, it really doesn't matter in the end. Especially when it comes to religion. Does that make sense?

Marie Green said...

I agree with you about Pi- it really was just a matter of which was the best story, and it wasn't supposed to be clear. BUT! Holy sh*t I was not expecting that ending. And the speculation- if there were no animals, then which person was the tiger?

Good book. It took me forever to get into it, but LOVED it once I did.
